Tendupatta incentive remuneration and dividend of Joint Forest Management Committees amounting to Rs 466 crore will be distributed
Under Narva development project, the land remediation work is being done in more than 25 lakh hectare area in 6 thousand 755 canals of the forest region
Chief Minister reviewed the departmental work of Forest and Climate Change Department

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel conducted an in-depth review of the works of Forest and Climate Change Department, in his residence office today. In this review meeting, Mr Baghel directed the departmental officers to adopt a systematic approach and better measures for protection and preservation of the forests in Chhattisgarh as well as for the upliftment of the forest dwellers. Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar was present on the occasion.
In the meeting, it was informed that an amount of nearly Rs 466 crore will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the districts as Tendupatta incentive remuneration and dividends of Joint Forest Management Committees, in the grand program to be organized in the state on the occasion of World Tribal Day on August 9. These include a dividend amount of Rs 44 crore for the period from 2018-19 to 2023-24 for Forest Management Committees. Likewise, Rs 422 crore will be distributed as Tendupatta bonus-renumeration, including Rs 163 crore 59 lakh for the year 2021 and Rs 258 crore 17 lakh for the year 2022.
During the review meeting, it was informed that the Forest Department is taking consistent measures for the conservation of forests in the state. As per the vision of Chief Minister, plantation work is being done at an expedited pace with priority. In the year 2023-24, a target has been set to plant more than 70 lakh saplings in 7 thousand 695 hectare area under all the schemes of departmental plantation drive. These include the target of planting about 18 lakh saplings in an area of 3 thousand 68 hectare under the plantation drive of CAMPA item. It is noteworthy that during the current rainy season, 6 lakh 47 thousand fruit saplings will be planted in 2 thousand 121 hectare area.
In the meeting, the progress of the state government’s ambitious “Mukhya Mantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana” was also reviewed. Under Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana, in year 2023-24, as many as 23 thousand 603 farmers will do plantation in 36 thousand 140 acres of land. Under this plantation drive, 2 crore nearly 25 lakh 52 thousand 941 saplings of teak, bamboo, eucalyptus, sandalwood and milia dubia will be planted.
Chief Minister also reviewed in detail the important program of Narva development at the meeting. Under Narva development project, the work of land remediation is presently in progress in more than 25 lakh hectare area in 6 thousand 755 drains (Nala) in forest areas of the state. For this, construction of 1 crore 80 lakh ground water conservation structures is in progress.
Further in the meeting, an in-depth review of the works of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Wildlife, Joint Forest Management Committee, Medicinal Plant Board and State Biodiversity Board was conducted. On this occasion, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Principal Secretary Forest Department Mr. Manoj Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. V. Srinivasa Rao, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi and Mr. Ankit Anand, Managing Director State Minor Forest Produce Association Mr. Anil Rai, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mr. Sudhir Agarwal, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Arun Pandey and Mr. Sunil Kumar Mishra , Chief Executive Officer Mr. OP Yadav and Mr J.A.C.S. Rao was present along with a number of Departmental officers.
