Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the swearing-in and felicitation ceremony of the Zila Sahu Sangh at the Dussehra ground in Birra village of Janjgir-Champa district. He commenced the event by garlanding the portraits of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and Bhaktin Mata Karma and paying tribute to the ancestors of the society. During his address, Mr. Baghel announced the transformation of Gram Panchayats Birra and Bamhnidih into Nagar Panchayats. Additionally, he approved the establishment of the Naveen Swami Atmanand English Medium School, the construction of a new community hall, and the opening of a junior engineer office for the Electricity Department in Birra village panchayat. Fulfilling the villagers’ demands, he also granted approval for the construction of a bridge and road from Bamhnidih to Dahida over the Hasdeo River.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel extends his best wishes to the newly elected office bearers. He shared the state government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy. To achieve this, the government has implemented several schemes benefiting farmers, labourers, women, and landless labourers. The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana has already provided benefits to 26 lakh farmers in the state. For the bumper paddy yield this year, the government has decided to raise the limit of procuring paddy in the support price from 15 quintals per acre to 20 quintals per acre. Education is another area of focus for the state government, with schools being painted under the ‘School Jatan Yojana’, which has a budget of Rs 1000 crore. The state has also inaugurated its first Swami Atmanand English Medium College in Kanker. Furthermore, the government has provided affordable land to various communities for the construction of community halls and also provided assistance for their construction. Now many communities have their own land and community halls, which are used for various social and cultural programs benefiting all citizens.
The State President of Sahu Samaj, Mr. Tehal Ram Sahu, presided over the event. Addressing the people present at the event, Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant emphasised the importance of promoting social harmony and unity. In his address, Home Minister Mr.Tamradhwaj Sahu highlighted the significance of utilising time and opportunities for the betterment of society. He urged the newly elected office-bearers to use their respective posts to strengthen the organisation and work towards eradicating societal evils and orthodox traditions.
