Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya highlights the significance of Yoga at Mahasamund event

Raipur 21 June 2023// A mass yoga practice session was organized at Government Adarsh Boys Higher Secondary School in Mahasamund to mark the occasion of International Day of Yoga. Urban Administration and Development and Labour Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, performed various yoga poses on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Dr Dahariya highlighted that yoga remains an integral part of our tradition and culture. He emphasized that even the sages achieved success through yoga and channelized their energy for the betterment of society.

Extending his greetings on International Day of Yoga, Dr Dahariya mentioned that Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has successfully spread the message of “Har Ghar Angan Yoga”. Today, people of all ages, including children, youth, and the elderly, are actively practising yoga. Recognizing the significance of yoga, the Chhattisgarh government has established the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission and appointed dedicated members. Dr Dahariya commended the district administration and the citizens for the successful organization of this event. During the event, Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Shri Vinod Sevan Lal Chandrakar, encouraged everyone to practice yoga for their well-being, stating, “Practice yoga and stay healthy.”

In comparison to the present situation, the nutritional value of our meals has become almost negligible due to the use of chemical-based products. Today, the entire world is embracing yoga, and there is a need to consistently incorporate it into our lives. Nagar Palika Chairman Smt. Rashi Mahilang congratulated everyone and emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into our daily routines to maintain good health. She mentioned that during the pandemic, we witnessed a decline in people’s immunity, further highlighting the significance of yoga.

During the event, chief guests honoured Toran Yadav, Sarojini Jagat, Divas Bhoi, and Satyanarayan Durga for their excellent performance in yoga. Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Shri Vinod Chandrakar, Nagar Palika Chairman Smt. Tribhuvan Rashi Mahilang, Janpad President Mr Yatendra Sahu, Collector Shri Prabhat Malik, SP Shri Dharmendra Singh, DFO Shri Pankaj Rajput, Smt. Rashmi Chandrakar; Shri Daualal Chandrakar; local representatives; officers; employees; students; and a large number of members from the general public were also present on the occasion.
