PG students from the Medicine Department of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur organized an awareness program on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day, which falls on May 8th. The Head of the Department of Medicine at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Dr. D.P. Lakda, along with Dr. R.L. Khare, Dr. Y. Malhotra, Dr. Himeshwari, and Dr. Nemesh, informed patients and their relatives about Thalassemia disease, as well as the importance of genetic testing, prevention, precautions, and counseling. The experts also addressed any doubts and queries that the patients had. The main aim of the program was to raise awareness among people about Thalassemia, its treatment, complications, and preventive strategies.
