Raipur : Nearly 1,944 kiloliters of kerosene alloted for the month of May under PDS

Raipur, 04 May . Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has given instructions to supply kerosene under Public Distribution System (PDS) to the beneficiaries with ration cards and gas connections in non-scheduled areas. It is worth noting that out of the kerosene allocation received from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, New Delhi, for the first quarter of the year 2023, 1,944 kiloliters of kerosene has been allotted under Chhattisgarh Food and Nutritional Security Act for ration cards and hawkers at fair price shop-wise for the month of May 2023. This includes allotment of 1895.05 kiloliters of kerosene for PDS and 48.95 kiloliters for hawkers. Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection has issued a letter to this effect to all the Collectors and state-level coordinators of the oil industry.

In the letter issued by the Food Department, it is stated that all the ‘Antyodaya’ and ‘priority’ ration cards prevalent under PDS will be eligible for receiving kerosene at fair price shops. Ration card holders of urban areas will be entitled for a maximum 2 liters of kerosene and those of scheduled areas under rural areas will get a maximum of 3 liters of kerosene and the ration card holders of non-scheduled areas will be entitled to recieve a maximum 2 liters of kerosene. Separate allotment has been issued to the hawkers at the rate of 85 litres each. Hawkers have been asked to stand in front of designated fair price shops and distribute kerosene to ration card holders.

The district wise kerosene allotment for the month of May is as follows. Allocation of 96 kiloliters of kerosene has been issued for Bastar district. Similarly, 36 kiloliters has been allotted for Bijapur district, 36 kiloliters for Dantewada district, 84 kiloliters for Kanker district, 72 kiloliters for Kondagaon district, 24 kiloliters for Narayanpur district, 48 kiloliters for Sukma district, 60 kiloliters for Bilaspur district,12 kiloliters for Gaurla-Pedra-Marwahi district, 96 kiloliters for Janjgir-Champa district, 84 kiloliters for Korba district, 24 kiloliters for Mungeli district, 24 kiloliters for Raigarh district, 72 kiloliters for Balod district, Bemetara 84 kiloliters for district, 24 kiloliters for Durg district, 96 kiloliters for Kawardha district, 12 kiloliters for Rajnandgaon district, 120 kiloliters for Baloda Bazar Bhatapara district, 12 kiloliters for Dhamtari district, 72 kiloliters for Gariaband district, 72 kiloliters for Mahasamund district 96 kiloliters for Raipur district, 48 kiloliters for Raipur district, 72 kiloliters for Balrampur district, 120 kiloliters for Jashpur district, 36 kiloliters for Koriya district, 132 kiloliters for Surguja district, 120 kiloliters for Surajpur district, 12 kiloliters for Sakti district, 36 kiloliters for Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, 36 kiloliters for Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, 24 kiloliters for Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district and allotment of 24 kiloliters of kerosene has been issued for Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district.
