Raipur : Haat Bazar Clinic makes healthcare available in remote areas

Health care is rapidly reaching rural Chhattisgarh, particularly in hilly and inaccessible areas. The health department’s staff is improving health care through Haat Bazar clinics. In the state’s rural areas, more than 1 lakh 50 thousand haat market clinics have been organised. These events have directly benefited over 84 lakh patients. Along with treatment, people in the haat markets are receiving free medicines and pathology services at clinics organised by the health department. People are treated in remote areas under the scheme by 429 dedicated branding vehicles and medical teams across the state.

People living in Bastar-Surguja and other inaccessible areas of the state benefit from the Chhattisgarh government’s flagship scheme, Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Yojana. While this scheme is continuously monitoring the nutrition of women and children, the malaria eradication campaign in Bastar has gained momentum. This scheme is also proving effective in assessing women’s and children’s nutritional status and preventing malnutrition in these populations.

Mr. Vijay Sarathi, a resident of Chhindand village in the Baikunthpur district of the Surguja division, had long suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes. Even costly medications and treatment were ineffective. Mr. Sarathi noticed the clinic’s car in the weekly market one day and went there to ask the doctors about free treatment. Following the test, he was also given free medicines, and his health has improved as a result of this.Similarly, Mr. Ramnarayan, who has BP issues, claims to have high blood pressure, which has caused him a lot of pain. His health has improved since receiving proper treatment, medications, and dietary recommendations at the Haat Bazar clinic. In the Korea district over the last week In total, 1758 patients were examined at the Haat Bazar clinic, with 1715 receiving free medicines.

A large number of villagers in the Bastar zone are also benefiting from the Haat Bazar Clinic scheme. Dr. Duleshwar Dani, who came for treatment at the Haat-Bazar Clinic in Paknar village, Bastar district, stated that under this scheme, pregnant mothers and infants will be examined and vaccinated, infectious and non-infectious diseases, eye diseases, malnutrition, skin diseases, diabetes, TB, high blood pressure, and family planning advice will be given. Mrs. Lodi, who has a shop in Katenar market, said she is taking advantage of the Haat Bazar clinic. She has her blood pressure checked at the Haat Bazaar clinic, where she is also given free medicines.

Local language experts are in the health team

Beneficiaries stated that the villagers no longer need to travel to the city for minor diseases and tests. During the checkup, appropriate health counselling is provided. Aside from that, an ambulance service is available for emergency situations. To provide health services to the people of Surguja, Bastar zone, doctors and paramedical staff who speak the local dialect are being recruited.
