Women belonging to the Baiga community, a special backward tribe of Kabirdham district, paid a courtesy call on President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu at Amrit Udyan in New Delhi and presented ‘Biran Mala’ to her. President Mrs. Murmu boosted the morale of women from Chhattisgarh by addressing them through ‘Chhattisgarhiya Sable Badiya’.
It is noteworthy that the women’s SHG of the Baiga community of Kabirdham district was on a visit to Amrit Udyan situated in New Delhi. Amrit Udyan was open for visitors from March 28 to 31. Women of the Baiga community of different villages of Pandariya development block of Kabirdham district visited Amrit Udyan which was established to commemorate the 75 years of independence on March 31, 2023. Women from Korba, Gariyaband, and Kabirdham districts also met the President in the garden situated at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Members of Chhattisgarh’s SHG told that visiting the Amrit Udyan of Rashtrapati Bhavan and meeting the President is a matter of pride for them as well as for the district. Women of the special backward tribe Baiga community under the Pandariya development block from Kabirdham district included Mrs. Dhanmat, Dashami Bai, Laxmiya, Indravati, Ramkali, Phoolbatti, Champa Baiga, Binda, Parvati, and Savani Bai.
As per the instructions received from the state government, the members of SHGs working under the Pandariya development block of Kabirdham district were sent to visit Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. All the women belonged to the Baiga community, a special backward tribe of Chhattisgarh. These women are part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission in an effort to become self-reliant.
