Raipur: Pauni-Pasari Yojana: Rs 7.33 crore approved for the construction of 263 platforms

A provision has been made to provide a platform to women of self-help groups and those interested in doing traditional business in the unorganized sector of all of the state’s urban areas, at an affordable daily fee for business in the densely populated areas. This scheme is beneficial in reviving the pouni-pasari business, which is an ancient Chhattisgarh tradition.

Under this, local traditional businesses such as iron-related works, pottery, washing clothes, preparing shoes and slippers, wood-related works, fodder for animals, vegetable production, weaving-stitching of clothes, making blankets, idols, The business of flowers, worship material, bamboo tukna, hair cutting, dona-pattal, mat preparation and jewellery and beauty items etc. employment is made available in the form of pauni-pasari business.

Under the scheme, an amount of Rs 7 crore 33 lakh 8 thousand has been sanctioned for the construction of about 263 pauni-pasari units (platforms). Under the scheme, the eligibility of 30 lakh per piece is fixed. Under the scheme, 100 percent grant is given to the urban bodies. In the financial year 2019-20, approval of Rs 2750.70 lakh has been given for a total of 108 projects. And in the financial year 2020-21, approval of Rs 4506.02 lakh has been given for the updated 152 projects. In the year 2021, approval of Rs 26.35 lakh has been given for one project. In the financial year 2022-23, approval of Rs 55.24 lakh was given for two projects.
