North Bastar Kanker: Farmers delighted after receiving solar pump facility

North Bastar Kanker, 22 March.  Farmers of the district are bringing positive changes in their lives with the use of modern techniques in agriculture. With the help of the government and administration, farmers living in interior regions are being encouraged for agricultural work even in harsh geographical conditions. They are striving for a better lifestyle by conducting advanced farming while reaping the benefits of various schemes. For the harvesting of any crop, sufficient water besides proper care is required. Farmers living in villages located in interior regions face difficulties while irrigating their fields due to the absence of a regular electric supply system. Solar pump installation in fields without electricity provides a pollution-free and obstacle-free irrigation facility, which is also free of cost.

A resident of Choriya village under the Narharpur Development block, Mrs. Maheshwari Vatti, said that she used to face difficulties in farming on account of the lack of resources for irrigation, because of which her economic condition had weakened. On learning about the Saur Sujala Yojana of the government, she installed a solar pump with a capacity of 5HP in her fields, after which she is cultivating crops like Madiya, Urad, and Kulthi, along with vegetables through a drip. Mrs. Maheshwari Vatti has thanked the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for launching this scheme.
