Tumgaon’s Shramik Ramji received the scheme amount
Expressed his gratitude for the scheme
Mahasamund, 20 March . The Chhattisgarh Government launched the Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana to provide financial assistance to the state’s workers. Through this scheme construction workers are being offered financial assistance by the state government. 26 senior workers are registered under the scheme in the Mahasamund district. A lump sum amount of Rs. 20 thousand has been provided to 10 senior workers (each) after examination. The documents of the remaining senior workers are being examined.
Mr. Ramji Sahu, a worker from Tumgaon, said that the assistance amount of Rs 20 thousand under the Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana has reached his bank account. He considers the scheme to be quite beneficial for senior workers. He said that after crossing the age of 60 years, construction work becomes a physically laborious task. That is why even builders hesitate to assign work to senior workers like him. This scheme has proven to be a boon for workers like him and the amount of Rs. 20 thousand received in their bank accounts is quite significant for their families. He expressed his gratitude to the government and thanked the Chief Minister.
The membership of construction workers registered under the Chhattisgarh Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board whose age exceeds 60 years terminates automatically as per the Chhattisgarh Building and Construction Workers Employment and Service Conditions Act 1946. In this regard, to improve the lives of construction workers who are about to retire from the membership of the board, a lump sum amount is provided to them under the Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana by the state government.
It is remarkable that under the Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana, construction workers who have exceeded the age of 60 years were being provided a lump sum amount of Rs. 10,000 as financial assistance for a better living before they retire from the board. But on the occasion of the new year, the Chief Minister, as a gift to construction workers, announced the increase in the lump sum assistance amount under the Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana from Rs. 10000 to Rs. 20000. Workers have to apply online or offline to reap the benefits of the scheme. The increased amount will enable a higher living standard for workers. They won’t have to depend on others.
