Korba, 17 March. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, under the aegis of the Women and Child Development Department, and as a part of the Poshan Abhiyan, the community-based program called Suposhan Chaupal has been organized to encourage community participation in positive behaviors related to proper health and nutrition of pregnant women and mothers of infants.
It was organized in all 2559 Anganwadi centers of the district. Social/traditional activities like ‘Godbharai’, and ‘Annaprasan’, along with nutrition and health-related consultation programs are to be organized under the Suposhan Chaupal in Anganwadi centers, which can help in improving the nutritional level of women and children.
Community-based Suposhan Chaupal is organized with a specific theme/subject twice a month in every Anganwadi center. The Suposhan Chaupal is being organized in its direct form from March 2023 in the financial year 2022-23 till December 2023 as per the calendar obtained by the Government in all Anganwadi centers. Under this, themes like Annaprasan Diwas, Godbharai Diwas, Poshan Diwas, Jan Swasthya Diwas, etc. are being organized by Anganwadi activists in all Anganwadis. Today, this event was organized in all 2559 Anganwadi centers, where a total of 27969 beneficiaries participated.
