Ms Asha Malviya travels across India for the cause of women’s safety and empowerment
Chief Minister praised the spirit and dedication of the solo cyclist Ms. Asha
Raipur, 02 March . Solo cyclist Ms. Asha Malviya paid courtesy call on Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office yesterday evening. Ms Asha Malviya informed Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that she has embarked on a pan-India cycle tour with the message of women’s safety and empowerment.
Ms. Asha is from a village named Nataram in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. She started this journey from Bhopal on November 1 last and will conclude it on August 15 at the nation’s capital Delhi. During this cycle tour, she will travel about 25 thousand kilometers in 28 states of India. So far, she has covered a distance of 9600 kms in 9 states, Chhattisgarh being the tenth state.
Chief Minister appreciated the determination and dedication of solo cyclist Ms Asha. He asked Ms Asha about her experience of the journey so far and extended her best wishes for the remaining journey. Ms. Asha told Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that during the visit she got an opportunity to learn about the works that being done for women in Chhattisgarh. She appreciated Chhattisgarh Government for the various measures being taken in the state for the safety and empowerment of women.
