Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana provided her with Rs. 20,000
Raipur, 23 February . It is the dream of every mother to secure a bright and better future for her child. The mothers of the worker community dream of a golden future for their children amidst scarcity. The Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana of the State Government is playing an important role in fulfilling these dreams. Under the scheme, a lump sum amount of Rs. 20,000 is provided, which is helping children belonging to families of worker communities in creating a future for themselves. Daily wage worker Mrs. Lachhwantin Sahu is no longer worried about the future of her son Moksh, because the Labour Department’s Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana has provided them with Rs. 20,000, which she can utilize for securing her child’s future. This amount will help her son Moksh in his education and employment in his adulthood.
Mrs. Lachhwantin Sahu, a resident of the Danitola Ward in Dhamtari district, is a registered daily-wage worker under the Chhattisgarh Organized Workers Welfare Board, who works as a Reja in house construction jobs. Her husband Mr. Subhash Sahu is a labourer by profession. On 22 August 2022, a son was born to the Sahu couple whom they named Moksh. However, his mother was plagued by Moksh’s future right after his birth. Meanwhile, the couple was informed that the Labour Department provides financial aid to registered workers under the Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana. They applied for the scheme and an amount of Rs. 20,000 was transferred to their bank account. This amount is quite significant for a family of manual workers. Lachhwantin, after getting emotional, said that she will keep the amount of Rs. 20,000 received under the scheme in their bank account till Moksh becomes an adult. Mrs. Sahu, while expressing her gratefulness to the Government, said that this scheme has proved to be a blessing for poor and daily-wage workers like us. This scheme has provided us with great relief.
The labour official said that the State Government provides an amount of Rs. 20,000 to female construction workers registered under the Labour Department of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board on the birth of the first two children. The worker’s registration should be 90 days before the birth of the child to benefit from the scheme. It is mandatory for the registered worker to submit documents like birth certificate, Aadhar card, self-declaration certificate, and employer certificate along with the application.
