Government programs and cutting-edge technology are providing farmers with significant benefits in the horticulture industry

On a 5-acre plot of land, vegetable farming generates up to 8 lakh rupees each year.

Raipur, 09 February . Vegetable producers and farmers gain greatly from the convergence of government programs and modern technology in the field of horticulture. Farmers are attempting to improve vegetable output with the assistance of government departments and simple access to agricultural equipment.

Similarly, Shri Krishna Dutt, a vegetable producer, states that he used to raise paddy and maize on 5 acres of irrigated land. Agriculture provided virtually little money due to the usage of old technology. He further claims that as soon as he knew about the Horticulture Department’s National Horticulture Mission initiative, he contacted the department.

Krishna Dutt of Mahora village of Baikunthpur development block of Koriya district got the benefit of a drip irrigation scheme from the department in the year 2019-20. Started with 2.5 acres at a cost of around 1.29 lakh. Drip has been planted on this land, in which 70 percent departmental grant and 30 percent farmer’s share has been given.

Krishna Dutt says that using this innovative technique, I have planted horticulture crops like cabbage, chili, brinjal, tomato, pumpkin, and papaya in the fields. Due to this, I am getting a profit of 8 to 10 lakh rupees in one year. Along with this, he has also got the benefit of the Pack House Scheme, Shade Net Scheme, Power Weeder Scheme, and DBT Scheme from the department.

Meanwhile, Krishnadutt is quite pleased with the benefits of watering with the drip irrigation system. Plants receive a proper amount of water when irrigated with a drip irrigation system. Farmers can simply irrigate their fields and orchards with a drip irrigation system. Water is made available to the plants in the form of drops in the root zone of the plants as needed using this method.
