Rs.1.5 crore subsidy to 888 beneficiaries under Electric Vehicle Policy

To promote e-vehicle sales, CG government will provide 10 per cent subsidy on vehicle’s value

Raipur, 4 February . Under the Electric Vehicle Policy 2022 in the state, the subsidy is being distributed consistently to the beneficiaries by the Transport Department. In this context, the distribution of subsidy amounting to Rs.1 crore 55 lakh 90 thousand 515 to 888 electric vehicle owners is under process. Under the first phase, subsidy worth more than Rs.80 lakh have been distributed to 404 beneficiaries across the state in December.

In this regard, Transport Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar said that every possible initiative is being taken to promote electric vehicles in Chhattisgarh as per the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Under this, any person who buys an electric vehicle will be provided with a subsidy from the state government. For this, the vehicle dealer has to give his account number and IFSC code. 10 per cent vehicle’s value, subject to a maximum of Rs.1.5 lakh, will be directly transferred by the Transport Department to the account of the electric vehicle buyer.

Transport Minister Mr. Akbar has also told that to address the global problem of air pollution, there is a need to promote electric vehicles. For this, all possible help is being provided by the state government to encourage the mission related to electric vehicles in Chhattisgarh. In this context, the subsidy is being distributed to attract customers towards electric vehicles, which will continue in future as well. He said that the state government is providing facilities and necessary help to the people to encourage the use of electric vehicles.

According to the information received from the Transport Commissioner Mr. Dipanshu Kabra, the distribution of subsidy amounting to more than one and a half crore rupees to 888 electric vehicle owners of the state is under process. In the subsidy being distributed, the maximum subsidy of Rs.72 lakh 78 thousand has been provided to 401 beneficiaries of Bilaspur, Rs.40 lakh to 201 beneficiaries of Raipur and Rs.10 lakh to 86 beneficiaries of Balodabazar. Similarly, the subsidy being distributed of Rs.12 lakh 4 thousand to 74 beneficiaries of Durg, Rs.4 lakh 64 thousand to 43 beneficiaries of Janjgir, Rs.3 lakh 82 thousand to 36 beneficiaries of Jashpur, Rs.3 lakh 25 thousand to 26 beneficiaries of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Rs.7 lakh 40 thousand to 18 beneficiaries of Mahasamund and Rs.1 lakh 69 thousand to 3 beneficiaries of Mungeli.
