Korba, 02 February . The promise made by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel during the ‘Bhent-Mulaqat’ programme has been fulfilled with the installation of a solar-powered irrigation pump in Chhotu’s farm.
The Chief Minister had interacted with the villagers during his ‘Bhent-Mulaqat’ programme in the village Pipariya of Podi-Uproda development block of Korba district. During this, Kumari Anita Raj, a resident of village Korbi, said that her father Shri Chhotu Raj earns his livelihood through farming. There is a bore in his farmland but it is not working due to a lack of electricity. She requested the Chief Minister for installation of a solar-powered pump on his father’s farm.
Chief Minister had promised Anita that a solar pump would be installed on her father’s farm soon. Acting swiftly on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the agriculture department immediately started the process and a solar pump was installed on Chhotu’s farm by the CREDA department within a week of approval. Right now the crops of wheat, peas, tomatoes, and coriander are flourishing in Chhotu Raj’s field. Tomatoes are about to ripen and peas are ready to be picked.
Anita Raj said that she got a chance to speak to the Chief Minister during the ‘Bhent-Mulaqat’ programme. Expressing her gratitude towards the Chief Minister, she said that she put forth her demand which was fulfilled in no time. She said that she is associated with a self-help group and is also a member of Bihaan. By joining the group, she gained self-confidence and was able to speak to the Chief Minister without any hesitation.
