Chief Minister’s initiative : Free Dialysis facility for kidney patients in nine districts

More than 13 thousand free dialysis sessions so far

Raipur, 29 November . At the initiative of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, a facility of free dialysis for kidney patients in nine districts of the state has been provided. This service of the State Government is being provided free of cost to sick patients of every class. So far, more than 13 thousand free dialysis sessions have been conducted in the state.


The facility of free dialysis is being provided in the following nine districts of the state: Durg, Kanker, Korba, Bilaspur, Jashpur, Sarguja, Mahasamund, Bijapur, and Rajnandgaon by the National Health Mission Chhattisgarh. For this, 5 dialysis machines have been installed in Jashpur, Durg, and Kanker each; 4 in Ambikapur and Mahasamund each; 6 in Korba; 3 in Bijapur; and 4 in Bilaspur (3 in CIMS Medical College and 1 machine in Bilaspur Covid Hospital).


It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh Government is running many schemes related to healthcare services for the convenience of the public. Through these schemes, common people are getting medicines at cheaper rates and free of cost healthcare services. Kidney patients who need dialysis are charged anywhere between Rs 1,000 to Rs. 15,000 for one dialysis session by private hospitals. Considering this problem faced by kidney patients in the state, the Chief Minister has provided free dialysis facilities in nine districts of the state.
So far, 13,798 free dialysis sessions have been conducted in the state in these nine districts, including 4,885 sessions in Durg; 4,872 in Korba; 4,230 in Kanker; 3,504 in Bilaspur; 2,631 in Mahasamund; 1,390 in Sarguja; 942 in Bijapur; and more than 675 in Jashpur.
