Program organized in Watershed Development Project village Songudha

KORBA, 25 NOVEMBER . Chief General Manager Smt. Suparna Tandon, from NABARD Chhattisgarh Regional Office Raipur inaugurated the main phase of Village Watershed Development Project Songudha-Dondaro in Gram Panchayat Songudha Korba, in the presence of District Development Manager NABARD KorbaMr.Sanjeev Pradhan. On this occasion, she inaugurated the office of the Village Watershed Development Committee by cutting the ribbon.

With the help of NABARD, the watershed development project is being implemented by the Watershed Development Committee, Songudha, in a total of 920 hectares of land in village Songudha, Aurakchhar and village Dondaro development block and district Korba, with the technical support of the NGOSROUT Korba. During the visit and inspection, the Chief General Manager visited the area and observed the works of the Watershed Development Committee. During the tour, she saw Dabri construction, contour bund construction, bund construction, Sri Vidhi farming, organic farming, aromatic farming area and discussed with the farmer beneficiaries.

Under the livelihood promotion activities, she inaugurated the ration shop, tent house provided to the self-help groups and observed the self-help groups doing fish farming activities.

On this occasion, while discussing with farmers and women of self-help groups, she said that NABARD’s main goal is to bring positive changes in the lives of people in rural areas. Addressing the women of self-help groups, she inspired them to work unitedly and keep moving forward in life.

NABARD District Development Manager Mr. Sanjeev Pradhan explained the role of Village Watershed Development Committee in detail and said that the Watershed Development Committee is the backbone of this work and regular meeting and monitoring by them is necessary.

While appreciating the work of NABARD, SROUT President Dicson Masih said that new avenues of development and livelihood open up in the places where NABARD works. He said that NABARD has an important role in water and soil conservation and rural development.

Chairman of Village Watershed Development Committee Manharan Shrivas thanked all the guests and villagers and assured them that the development of watershed has brought new momentum in the development of the village, and we will keep this momentum going.

On this occasion, Village Watershed Development Committee members Brijlal, Chattarram, Savita, Budhwar Singh, Thandaram, Saraswati, Jaipal Singh, Krishna Bai, Ramkuwar, Satyaprakash Jaiswal, Roshan Sahu, Ashish Tanwar, Shobha, Kavita, Lachan Chandra, Bhaskar Shriwas from the SROUTorganization Bajrang Singh etc. were present.
