The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister for the rescue operation

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday met the family of young boy Rahul–who was rescued from a borewell after a massive operation of about 104 hours–at his home in village Pihrid of Janjgir-Champa district. Earlier, Shri Baghel also inspected the rescue operation site where a giant pit was dug to save the boy. MLA Ram Kumar Yadav was also present during the inspection.
Rahul’s father Shri Ram Kumar Sahu told Chief Minister that Rahul is currently studying in Raipur. He welcomed the Chief Minister with a Shawl and Shriphal and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for all the help provided to save his son. Rahul’s mother Geeta Devi also thanked him for all his efforts.
Meanwhile, Rahul fell into an open 80-feet borewell on June 10. He was pulled to safety after the massive rescue operation that lasted for about 104 hours. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with the Indian Army, district administration, SECL, and police personnel made untiring efforts for his rescue. He was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Bilaspur after he was safely evacuated from the borewell pit on June 15. Concerned over the boy’s rescue, Chief Minister was taking constant updates on the entire rescue operation.
