Three-Day Training Program on Permit to Work (PTW) System Begins at EDC Korba

Korba, 27th March 2025: NTPC Korba, in association with Shri Y.V. Rao, Ex-Regional Executive Director (RED), SRHQ, NTPC Ltd., commenced a three-day training program on the Permit to Work (PTW) System today at the Employee Development Centre (EDC), Korba. The initiative aims to enhance safety awareness and procedural discipline among employees while executing high-risk tasks.

More than 90 Operation & Maintenance (O&M) employees are participating in the training, with a focus on Competent Persons (CPs), Authorized Persons (APs), and Senior Authorized Persons (SAPs). The program is structured to ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, thereby reinforcing NTPC Korba’s commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.

The training sessions cover essential aspects of the PTW system, including:

✔ Types of Work Permits & Issuance Procedures
✔ Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation
✔ Compliance Requirements

Shri Y.V. Rao, a distinguished expert in safety management and operations, is leading the sessions. With vast experience across multiple NTPC projects, his insights are expected to provide valuable guidance to the participants. Shri Rao retired as Regional Executive Director, NTPC SRHQ, Hyderabad, in 2017.

By reinforcing safe work practices, this initiative will contribute significantly to a safer and more efficient working environment at NTPC Korba.
