CIMECON 2026 Concludes in Bilaspur; Director (HR), Coal India Calls for Tech-Driven Healthcare

Bilaspur, March 2: The three-day Coal India Medical Conference – CIMECON 2026, hosted by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), concluded here on Monday with a call to strengthen technology-driven healthcare systems across Coal India’s medical network.

Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Human Resources), Coal India Limited, graced the valedictory function as Chief Guest, while Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), SECL, presided over the ceremony. Among those present were Dr. Somshubhro Gupta, Head of Medical Services, Coal India; Dr. Shrutidev Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, SECL; Dr. Arihant Jain, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, along with senior doctors and officials.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ranjan highlighted Coal India’s extensive medical infrastructure comprising nearly 1,200 doctors serving in 16 major hospitals and over 80 peripheral hospitals across coalfield regions. He stated that doctors are key contributors to organisational productivity, emphasising that a healthy workforce ensures sustained performance and efficiency. He stressed the need to integrate modern technology, digital health monitoring and data analytics into healthcare delivery, adding that future medical systems must be transparent, outcome-oriented and technology-enabled.

Over 250 doctors and medical experts from reputed institutions, along with professionals from Coal India and its subsidiaries, participated in the conference. The event featured workshops, scientific sessions and technical presentations focusing on occupational diseases in mining areas, emergency care, advanced diagnostics, telemedicine and hospital management systems.

Awards for Best Case Presentation were distributed during the closing ceremony, marking the successful conclusion of CIMECON 2026.
