Speaking at the All India Sadguru Kabir Saint Conference (Falgun Mahotsav) held at Kabir Math Ashram in village Nadia, Dongargaon block, Rajnandgaon district on Sunday, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said saint traditions guide society, and when governance aligns with spiritual values, development and cultural refinement progress together. He highlighted the unifying teachings of Kabir.
He announced Rs 11 lakh for Ashram development, construction of a permanent dome, budget support for the annual event, a mini stadium in Nadia village, and a grand entrance gate in Rajnandgaon city in the name of Sant Kabir Saheb.
The Chief Minister noted that 202 years ago, revered Sadguru Sewa Saheb Ji established the Kabir Math in Nadia. He also recalled that Shri Mantu Thakur Ji of the Halba community donated his entire property for the Ashram’s service and mentioned prominent leader Shri Gend Singh Ji.
Referring to the saint’s influence in Chhattisgarh, he said Kabir’s teachings deeply shape the state’s spiritual and social life. He cited the example of Kabirdham district being named after the saint and recalled his own early association with the Kabir Panth. Quoting Kabir’s couplet “Nindak Niyare Rakhiye,” he said the saint taught self-improvement, ideal living, and service to humanity.
Highlighting Chhattisgarh as the “Rice Bowl” with 80% of its population dependent on agriculture, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said paddy payments are made within 48 hours. Over Rs 10,000 crore was transferred to 25.28 lakh farmers under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, and around Rs 15,000 crore transferred to bank accounts of more than 69 lakh women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
As per promise made under Modi Ki Gurantee, around 18 lakh houses were approved under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with over 8 lakh completed and owned by beneficiaries, a total 15,000 PMAY houses were sanctioned for surrendered Naxalites and 32,000 PMAY houses have been sanctioned for the PVTG community. Recruitment for 32,000 jobs has been initiated, including over 5,000 teachers.
Calling the state the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya and associated with Lord Ram’s exile, he said over 42,000 people have visited Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham under the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, while 5,000 beneficiaries visited 19 pilgrimage sites under the Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana. He added that strict action has been taken in DMF, coal and PSC scams, ensuring transparency and zero tolerance towards corruption.
School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav said Chhattisgarh holds a unique place as Devbhoomi and Sanskarbhoomi, with its soil reflecting service, harmony and spiritual consciousness. He described the people as simple, sensitive and value-driven — the state’s greatest strength.
He said that under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, equal emphasis is being given to development and cultural-spiritual values, strengthening the state’s identity. Highlighting the Chief Minister’s deep faith in saints, he noted that frequent visits by spiritual leaders to his residence reflect not only devotion but also a commitment to preserving positive values and guidance in society.
MP Shri Santosh Pandey described Chhattisgarh as a land blessed with precious heritage, saying it has consistently received guidance from saints whose teachings embody ideals and philosophy of life.
Former MP and Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav also addressed the gathering. Among those present were former MP Shri Pradeep Gandhi, former District Panchayat President Shri Dinesh Gandhi, District Cooperative Bank Vice-Chairman Shri Bharat Verma, Labour Board Chairman Shri Yogesh Dutt Mishra, District Panchayat President Smt Kiran Vaishnav, Dongargaon Janpad Panchayat President Smt Ranjita, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Nadia Smt Vandita Thakur, Acharya Swami Mangal Saheb, Dharmadhikari Shri Satyendra Saheb, Dr Bhagirathi Saheb, Sushri Sadhvi Sumedha Saheb, Sant Shri Ram Ratan Swaroop Saheb, Shri Lekh Chandra Saheb and a large number of dignitaries and citizens.
