Newly Appointed Mining Inspectors Must Contribute Actively to Mineral-Rich Chhattisgarh’s Growth: Chief Minister

CM Hands Over Appointment Letters to Newly Selected Mining Inspectors; Calls for Integrity and Dedicated Service

Raipur, February 19, 2026//

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai handed over appointment letters to the newly selected Mining Inspectors at his official residence-office on February 19. The appointments were made through the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission. On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that Chhattisgarh is among the most mineral-rich states in the country and that the effective functioning of mineral administration depends significantly on the efficiency of field-level officials.

Congratulating the newly appointed Mining Inspectors, the Chief Minister stated that the future of the nation and the state rests with its youth. He noted that fresh appointments in the Mineral Resources Department will strengthen the departmental workforce and accelerate mineral exploration and mining activities. He expressed confidence that the newly inducted inspectors would discharge their duties responsibly and contribute meaningfully to the effective implementation of mineral administration.

Highlighting the state’s vast natural wealth, the Chief Minister said that the land of Chhattisgarh is abundant in iron ore, coal, bauxite, limestone, tin, diamond, gold and lithium, among other minerals. These mineral resources are a major source of state revenue, and the government is continuously working to enhance mineral revenue collection. He encouraged the newly appointed officers to play an active role in boosting mineral revenue and ensuring the adoption of scientific and systematic mining practices.

The Chief Minister further emphasised that as Mining Inspectors, they have a very significant responsibility. He urged them to work with transparency, honesty and dedication, and to contribute to the conservation and proper utilisation of the state’s valuable natural resources.

It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission released the selection list for 33 Mining Inspectors on 15 October 2025. Subsequently, on 19 February 2026, the Mineral Resources Department issued appointment orders for 32 Mining Inspectors. Out of these, 30 newly selected Mining Inspectors received their appointment letters from the Chief Minister on Thursday.

On the occasion, the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation, Shri Saurabh Singh, the Secretary of the Mineral Resources Department, Shri P. Dayanand, the Director of Geology and Mining, Shri Rajat Bansal, and other senior departmental officials were present.
