MoU signed between Coal India and Govt of MP for exploration of critical minerals
A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Coal India Limited (CIL) and the Government of Madhya Pradesh (Mineral Resources Department through Directorate of Geology & Mining, and MP State Mining Corporation Limited) for collaboration in the exploration of critical minerals and other minerals of mutual interest.
The MoU was exchanged in the august presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav, with Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), SECL, representing CIL during the signing ceremony. The exchange took place at the Madhya Pradesh Mining Conclave 2.0, organized on 23rd August 2025 at Hotel The Arindum, Katni, on the theme “Shaping the Future of Mining: Strategic, Sustainable & Circular”.
The conclave brought together experts from academic institutions, industry leaders, mining professionals, and senior bureaucrats of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Presentations by experts from premier academic institutions and the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) focused on the future of mining in the state and leveraging advanced technologies to boost production and productivity of minerals. Through this MoU, CIL and its subsidiaries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the mineral sector of Madhya Pradesh with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
