Raipur, April 12, 2025 । A one-day workshop on “Awareness on Cyber Security and Cyber Crime” was successfully organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Raipur (C.G.). The objective of the workshop was to spread awareness about cyber security among students, staff and to familiarize them with the measures required to stay safe in the digital world.
The workshop witnessed the gracious presence of Mr. Rohit Malekar, Thana Incharge of Civil Lines, police station raipur and Dr. Teerath Prasad Sahu, Associate professor from NIT Raipur as the Resource Persons.
Distinguished guests included Shri S.S. Bajaj, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, Prof. S.K. Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. R.R.L. Birali, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, who were also graced the occasion.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the state song.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. K. Singh remarked, “Cybercrime is rapidly evolving in various forms. Technological awareness and vigilance are the best ways to prevent it.”
Pro-Chancellor Shri S. S. Bajaj, while sharing his personal experiences related to cybercrime, advised students to remain alert and cautious.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Malekar stated, “Cyber security is not merely a technical subject but a responsibility of every citizen. The youth must embrace digital ethics.”
In his technical session, Dr. Sahu discussed in detail several critical topics including phishing, data theft, password protection, social media precautions, and ethical hacking.
Finally, the workshop coordinator, Prof. Mithilesh Singh, expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries, experts, and participating students. He stated that such events not only impart knowledge but also help students realize their responsibilities towards society.
The workshop proved to be highly informative, practical, and inspiring for the students, who appreciated it as a timely and valuable initiative.
