Raigarh, June 05. NTPC Lara observed World Environment Day with great fervor, organizing a series of activities to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
The World Environment Day commenced with Prabhatpheri followed by a pledge-taking ceremony, and a signature campaign. It culminated with a mass tree plantation drive, symbolizing the organization’s commitment to a greener future.
The programme was graced by esteemed guests, including Sh. Anil Kumar, Executive Director, Sh. Faiz Tayyab, GM-O&M, Sh. Ravi Shankar, GM-Project, and Smt. Anuradha Sharma, President of Prerita Mahila Samiti, along with other NTPC officials and members of Prerita Mahila Samiti. The event included competitions for employees and their family members, as well as a drawing competition specifically for Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) participants.
Through these initiatives, NTPC Lara aimed to sensitize participants about the importance of this year’s theme “Beat plastic pollution” for environmental conservation and encourage sustainable practices. The event reflected the organization’s dedication to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
