NTPC Korba Conducts FAMEX–2025 to Equip Employees with Disaster Response Skills

As part of its unwavering commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness, NTPC Korba successfully organized FAMEX (Familiarization Exercise) – 2025 at its premises. The program was spearheaded by the Safety Department of NTPC Korba, in close collaboration with experts from the 3rd Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), based in Mundali, Cuttack, Odisha.

The training sessions were led by Sub-Inspector Hemraj Pandey and his team from the 3rd Battalion, NDRF. The exercise aimed to equip NTPC personnel with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to respond effectively to both natural and man-made disasters.

Through detailed demonstrations and interactive sessions, employees were trained in vital life-saving techniques such as safe evacuation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control, and injury management. Special focus was given to handling emergencies such as earthquakes, cyclones, floods, snake bites, and airway obstructions in children caused by foreign objects.

This disaster management awareness program was conducted as part of the Major Accident Hazard (MAH) preparedness initiative, ensuring employees are capable of responding swiftly and safely in crisis situations.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Shri Rajeev Khanna, Executive Director, NTPC Korba, and Shri Pawan Joshi, Deputy Commandant, NDRF, whose leadership was instrumental in the successful execution of the exercise.

This initiative reaffirms NTPC’s proactive approach to safety, reinforcing its commitment to building a resilient and disaster-ready workforce.
