The camp, organized by socially active women of the town\u2014Priyanka Jain, Aanchal Sachdeva, and Varsha Agrawal\u2014has witnessed participation from around 40 enthusiasts aged between 6 and 42 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative aims at enhancing cognitive abilities through the game of chess. Participants are being trained in understanding the movement of pieces, strategic planning, and decision-making, all of which contribute significantly to mental development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The camp is being conducted under the guidance of National Coach Sandeep Patle, who is imparting not only the basic rules of the game but also advanced techniques required to excel in competitive chess. He is also mentoring participants on obtaining international ratings and improving match-winning strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within just 20 days of training, remarkable progress has been observed among the participants. Many beginners, who had little to no prior exposure to chess, are now confidently playing the game with notable skill. A standout example is Deshna Jain, who, after receiving training at the camp, has delivered an impressive performance at the school level and has been selected for inter-school competitions. Encouraged by such achievements, several participants are now aspiring to represent Rajim at state and national-level tournaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a time when children are increasingly drawn towards mobile phones and digital gaming, the chess camp has played a constructive role in reducing screen time. Parents have reported a significant improvement in their children\u2019s concentration, analytical thinking, and patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In view of the overwhelming response from both children and parents, the organizers are considering extending the camp into May. Plans are underway to continue the training either in offline mode or through online sessions, ensuring that participants can further hone their skills.
