First PM Awas in Bastar Division Equipped with a Solar System Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Raipur, June 1, 2026\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the Sushasan Tihar initiative, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Gram Badeknera in Kondagaon district on June 1. He met Shri Anand Kumar Pawar, a beneficiary of the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, at his residence to understand the scheme’s positive impact on his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the interaction, Chief Minister Shri Sai learned how the welfare initiative has brought financial relief, energy self-reliance and renewed hope for a better future to the beneficiary\u2019s household.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking with the Chief Minister, Shri Anand Kumar Pawar, stated that his family\u2019s monthly electricity bill previously ranged between Rs. 1,200 and Rs. 1,500, which was a significant financial burden for a family with limited income. He informed that after the installation of a solar system under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana in December 2025, the family’s electricity bill was eliminated, freeing them from recurring power expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shri Pawar expressed his happiness and told the Chief Minister that his family was earlier only a consumer of electricity, but has now become a producer as well. He said this has not only increased household savings but has also strengthened the family\u2019s sense of self-reliance. The monthly savings are now being used to meet other household needs and support the future education and development of their children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the discussion, Shri Pawar also shared that he received the subsidy within approximately one month of applying for the scheme. He further stated that a bank loan was made available through a simple process, enabling the installation of the solar system without difficulty. The remaining amount is being repaid through easy monthly instalments, ensuring that no additional financial burden is placed on the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Shri Anand Kumar Pawar said the scheme has not only provided relief from electricity bills but has also instilled confidence in becoming self-reliant. He added that his family is now connected to clean energy and looks towards the future with greater confidence and optimism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Notably, the residence of Shri Anand Kumar Pawar, son of Shri Chaman Lal Pawar, is the first Pradhan Mantri Awas in Bastar Division, where a solar system has been installed under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The house has emerged as an inspiring model of rural development, clean energy adoption, self-reliance and effective convergence of government welfare schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yoajan is not merely a programme to reduce electricity bills but a comprehensive campaign to make ordinary families self-reliant in the energy sector. He stated that the scheme provides economic relief to households while promoting clean, green energy, thereby strengthening environmental conservation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Chief Minister further said that the state government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of government schemes effectively reach the last person in society and bring visible improvements in people\u2019s lives.
