Korba, 01 June2025. In accordance with the state government’s directives, the counseling process for 15 surplus headmasters and 287 assistant teachers of Korba district was completed at Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium, Transport Nagar, in the presence of Collector Ajit Vasant and Joint Director of Education Division Bilaspur.
Out of a total of 302 surplus teachers, two teachers were retained in their current positions due to their disability. The remaining 300 surplus teachers were posted to teacher-less and single-teacher primary schools. During the counseling process, surplus headmasters selected their preferred schools from the list of vacant positions based on their seniority.
In the counseling process for primary school surplus teachers (headmasters/assistant teachers), 4 headmasters out of 15 surplus headmasters did not agree to the school selection, and 1 was absent. Similarly, 20 assistant teachers out of 287 surplus assistant teachers did not agree to the school selection, and 21 assistant teachers were absent. Two teachers were retained in their current positions due to their disability.
The counseling process for all 300 headmasters and assistant teachers was completed late in the evening, and posting orders were handed over to them on the spot. Collector Ajit Vasant stated that the counseling process was conducted transparently as per the government’s directives. He added that the posting of surplus teachers to single-teacher and teacher-less schools would ensure regular teachers for students in remote areas and provide them with quality education.
The event was attended by District Panchayat CEO Dinesh Nag, Additional Collector Manoj Kumar Banjare, District Education Officer T P Upadhyay, SDM Saroj Mahilang, DMC Manoj Pandey, and all Block Education Officers.
