Emphasizes Production, Productivity & Sustainability
Bilaspur 23 March 2025.Coal India Chairman Shri P M Prasad, conducted a comprehensive review of mining operations, production strategies, and sustainability initiatives at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) during his visit on March 22-23, 2025. The visit aimed at evaluating the progress of SECL’s megaprojects and Central India Coalfields (CIC) while setting the roadmap for future growth.

Shri Prasad began his visit at the Dipka Megaproject, where he inspected key operational sites, including outsourcing and departmental patches, the First Mile Connectivity (FMC) system, silos, and railway sidings. He interacted with officers and shift in-charges, encouraging them to enhance production in the final days of March and discussing the action plan for the financial year 2025-26.

Following this, he proceeded to Kusmunda Megaproject to assess mining activities at outsourcing and departmental patches, including Neelkanth A and B. He also reviewed the land possession status and future production plans.
Continuing his visit to SECL’s CIC coalfields, Shri Prasad reached Chirimiri OC under Chirimiri Area and later held discussions with Area General Managers of Baikunthpur, Bishrampur, and Bhatgaon Areas regarding mine development strategies. At SECL Baikunthpur Area, he took stock of mining activities and later inspected operations at Rajnagar OCM and Churcha Mine R.O. Additionally, he visited the eco-restoration park Ananya Vatika in Hasdeo Area to review SECL’s environmental initiatives.

Shri Prasad further visited the Jamuna Kotma area, assessing mining activities at Amadand OCM and evaluating environmental and sustainability measures, including fly ash dumping, mine closure planning, and large-scale plantation at reclamation patches in Harrad and Daikhal.
His visit concluded at Saraipali OC of Korba Area, where he reviewed operational efficiency and workforce welfare initiatives.
Throughout the visit, Shri Prasad emphasized the importance of increasing production and productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability. He discussed operational strategies for the upcoming financial year and stressed the welfare of contractual workers, highlighting the implementation of the Corporate Salary Package to enhance workforce benefits.
