CMD Shri Harish Duhan reviews Bhatgaon, Bishrampur & Baikunthpur Areas under CIC on the 2nd day of field visit

Visits Jagannathpur OC, Amgaon OC, and Churcha UG

CMD SECL Shri Harish Duhan conducted an extensive visit to the operational areas under Central India Coalfields of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) on 30th March 2025. His visit aimed at strategic planning for FY 25-26, reviewing mining operations, assessing production and productivity, and reinforcing safety protocols across various mines. 

Shri Duhan commenced his visit at the SECL Bhatgaon Area, where he evaluated the ongoing mining activities and the overall performance of the mines. At Jagannathpur OCM, he specifically reviewed the safety measures in place and directed the team to enhance productivity while developing the mine as a model mine of SECL.

Emphasizing the importance of safety awareness, he advocated for the use of visual and pictorial aids to effectively communicate safety instructions to both departmental and contractor workers. 

Following this, Shri Duhan proceeded to the Bishrampur Area, where he inspected the Amgaon OC mine. His assessment included a thorough examination of both old and new patch workings, as well as the sump area.

He provided key directives on land and rehabilitation (L&R) matters and stressed the necessity of prioritizing production while maintaining stringent safety standards. 

Later, he convened a meeting with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) and Staff Officers of the Bishrampur Area, commending them for the significant turnaround from heavy losses and the remarkable increase in production compared to previous years. 

Concluding his visit, the CMD reached the Baikunthpur Area, where he inspected the Churcha UG mine. He personally visited the underground mine face and assessed coal production operations using blast-free, eco-friendly mass production technology, Continuous Miner.

He also visited the mine’s canteen, where he inspected the facilities available for workers, ensuring that proper hygiene and amenities were maintained.

Additionally, he conducted a meeting with HoDs of the Baikunthpur Area, reviewing production and productivity aspects while reinforcing the commitment to planning, safety, and efficiency in operations,
