Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Extends Greetings to the People of Chhattisgarh on International Mother Language Day

Raipur, February 20, 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of International Mother Language Day (February 21), emphasizing the importance of linguistic heritage and cultural diversity of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that Chhattisgarh’s identity is deeply rooted in its rich linguistic heritage and multilingual culture. Languages such as Chhattisgarhi, Gondi, Halbi, Surgujia, Kurukh, and Bhathri are not just means of communication but also embody the state’s cultural soul. International Mother Language Day serves as a reminder to preserve, promote, and nurture these indigenous languages for future generations.

CM Shri Sai stated that mother tongue is not merely a tool for communication but a bridge that connects people to their roots and traditions. Chhattisgarh’s folk songs, folk tales, and traditional wisdom are deeply embedded in its native languages, making it essential to pass them on to younger generations to keep this legacy alive.
