Korba, May 20, 2025. Vedanta group company, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), has organized three significant training sessions aimed at ensuring workplace safety and secure transportation arrangements. These initiatives underscore the company’s commitment to strengthening safety standards while fostering a sense of responsibility towards safety among its employees and transportation partners.
The company conducted a session focused on road safety, designed to enhance awareness among various transportation partners operating within the plant premises. Over 50 transport partners involved in coal and ash transportation participated actively in the session. The transporters were apprised of critical road safety measures and encouraged to adhere to safety protocols. The program concluded with the recognition of several drivers for their outstanding performance based on various evaluation criteria.
In a significant step towards reinforcing transportation safety, BALCO has initiated the ISO 39001: Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTS). A comprehensive four-day awareness and training campaign was conducted under this initiative, aimed at improving transportation safety across all organizational levels. Through interactive sessions, employees were trained to identify road-related risks, ensure legal compliance, and adopt best safety practices. This initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing road accidents and cultivating a robust safety culture in all transportation activities.
Additionally, to thoroughly investigate and analyze potential incidents, BALCO organized an Incident Investigation Training. This two-day training program saw participation from over 90 individuals. The training was a proactive measure aimed at identifying the root causes of incidents, implementing effective preventive measures, and equipping participants with necessary investigation skills to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
