Raipur, December 2, 2025. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that persons with disabilities are an integral part of society. He reaffirmed that the Chhattisgarh Government is fully committed to the “empowerment and dignity of every Divyang citizen”.
The Chief Minister said the International Day of Persons with Disabilities offers society an opportunity to understand that persons with disabilities are “in no way lesser than anyone else”. He added that a strong and progressive society ensures “equal opportunities for all” and does not leave any individual behind due to physical limitations.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is taking consistent and concrete measures to secure the “rights, respect and self-reliance” of persons with disabilities. In Chhattisgarh, several comprehensive initiatives are being implemented by the government to strengthen access to education, healthcare, assistive devices, skill development, employment opportunities, social security, and inclusive public spaces. He said the government’s goal is to ensure “equal and empowered participation” of persons with disabilities in the mainstream so they can contribute to the state’s progress to their fullest potential.
He called upon all sections of society to bring about a positive change in their attitude towards persons with disabilities and to adopt a respectful, cooperative and sensitive approach. He emphasised that persons with disabilities will be truly empowered only when society and government work together to create an environment where every individual can advance according to their abilities. The Chief Minister added that the International Day of Persons with Disabilities strengthens our commitment to “inclusive development”.
