Bilaspur,18 July 2025.Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), participated as a panelist in the 50th Just Transition Dialogue titled “Mapping India’s Skill Ecosystem”, held from 17–18 July at the International Centre of Goa.
The event was jointly organized by the Just Transition Centre, IIT Kanpur, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). It also marked the inaugural workshop of the Just Transition Knowledge Network (JETNET).
During the panel discussion, Shri Das shared insights on “Inclusive Pathways – Promoting Decent Work for All” with a special focus on the coal industry.
Highlighting SECL’s proactive role, he elaborated on the company’s initiatives aimed at facilitating a just transition for both employees and local communities in mining areas.
He discussed SECL’s comprehensive skill development efforts, including self-income generation schemes and programs run in partnership with institutions like ATDC for apparel design and CIPET for plastic engineering.
Shri Das emphasised SECL’s commitment to supporting livelihoods through structured skilling and reskilling strategies and underlined the company’s vision for a sustainable and inclusive future in the coal sector.
