SECL’s DigiCOAL Showcased at Central Vigilance Commission’s National Workshop on Transparent Governance

Central Vigilance Commission organised a national workshop on “Digital Initiatives for Increasing Transparency in Governance” at the SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi today on 11 February 2026, where SECL’s DigiCOAL intiative on Digital Transformation was showcased as a model digital initiative advancing transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public sector operations.

The presentation was delivered by SECL CVO Shri Himanshu Jain, who highlighted how DigiCOAL has embedded digital oversight across critical mining functions.

He elaborated on:

HEMM Fleet Monitoring System – Real-time tracking of shovels, dumpers, and dozers through sensor-based monitoring of location, operating hours, and fuel consumption; automatic detection of fuel drops, idle time, and route deviations.
Video Analytics & Connected Worker Systems – Enhancing safety, operational control, and instant emergency response.
Drone-based Surveys – Supporting encroachment detection, haul road and slope monitoring, and monsoon drainage assessment.
Data-driven Mine Planning & Optimised Drilling and Blasting – Improving operational precision.
Digital Land Records, Training Platforms, Spares Management & Digital War Rooms – Creating an integrated, tamper-proof ecosystem.

DigiCOAL reflects SECL’s commitment to technology-driven governance and responsible mining.

At SECL HQ, the webcast of the presentation was attended by CMD SECL Shri Harish Duhan (through VC), Director (Technical) Operations, Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (HR) Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) Shri D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Technical) Projects & Planning Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, along with AGMs, HoDs, officers, and employees from HQ and all operational areas.
