Korba, Dec 14. SECL successfully organised the Closing-cum-Felicitation Ceremony of the Annual Coal Quality Improvement Fortnight 2025–26 at its Dipka Area, marking the culmination of a focused fortnight dedicated to strengthening coal quality management across the company.

The programme was graced by Shri Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, SECL, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical – Operations), SECL. The event witnessed the presence of Area General Managers, Sub-Area Managers, senior officials, and Quality Control teams from all SECL areas, underscoring the organisation’s collective commitment to quality excellence.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the National Anthem and the CIL Corporate Song. A key highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the SECL Quality Souvenir and the Dipka Area Quality Souvenir, jointly released by the CMD, SECL, Director (Technical – Operations), and the Area General Manager.

A detailed PowerPoint presentation was also showcased, highlighting the quality improvement initiatives and activities undertaken by various SECL areas during the Quality Control Fortnight, offering a comprehensive overview of best practices and achievements across the company.

Addressing the gathering, CMD, SECL emphasised that coal quality is a shared responsibility and must be integrated into every stage of operations. Director (Technical – Operations) highlighted the critical role of robust operational practices, technology adoption, and continuous monitoring in ensuring consistent and reliable coal quality.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of teams and individuals for their outstanding contributions, reaffirming SECL’s unwavering commitment to quality, operational excellence, and customer trust.
