Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development works worth Rs 195.26 crore at a programme held in Suhela village of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.

During the event, he handed over keys to a total 1,073 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, distributed gas connections to around 3,000 women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, issued property records to 5,000 farmers under the PM Swamitva Scheme, and provided various materials and cheques to beneficiaries of other government schemes.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision is to ensure that every household has a ‘pucca’ house, sanitation facility,clean drinking water, and the benefit of the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. He emphasised that the state government is working with full commitment to realise this vision. Highlighting that Chhattisgarh is celebrating the silver jubilee of its statehood, he asserted that every guarantee announced by Prime Minister Shri Modi before the formation of the government is being fulfilled one by one.

Chief Minister noted that the state is procuring paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal—up to 21 quintals per acre. The collection rate for Tendu leaves has been increased to Rs 5,500 per standard bag, and farmers have already received the pending bonus for two years. A large number of women are benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and the Ujjwala Scheme. He said households will receive free electricity under the PM Suryaghar Scheme, urging people to install solar panels to make the most of the substantial subsidies provided.

Praising the district administration’s “Hum Honge Kamyab” initiative, the Chief Minister said that the programme, which provides youth with skill training aligned with their interests, has already benefited more than 500 young people.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao and Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also addressed the gathering, stating that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai, Chhattisgarh is achieving rapid and transformative development. Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma informed that road works worth more than Rs 100 crore have been sanctioned in the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district alone.

During the programme, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a new government college in Suhela, the construction of a Community Health Centre building in Tilda, and the construction of a new Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School building and a new commercial complex in Balodabazar. He further announced the construction of sheds worth Rs 10 lakh each at 50 paddy procurement centres across the district and the construction of road dividers with lighting on all three roads extending one kilometre from the Suhela junction.

Among the projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister were 1,073 houses built at a cost of Rs 12.87 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, as well as drinking water supply schemes constructed at Amakoni, Hathband, Pousari, Semhradih, and Khaparadih at a total cost of Rs 7.74 crore.

Major foundation-laying works included strengthening of the Balodabazar–Risda–Hathband road at a cost of Rs 49.17 crore, construction of the Risda bypass road in Balodabazar for Rs 20.98 crore, an indoor stadium complex in Balodabazar for Rs 15.59 crore, 717 houses under PMAY–Gramin for Rs 8.60 crore, and construction of the Sungera anicut across the Kolhan nala at a cost of Rs 8.04 crore.

Beneficiary-oriented materials and cheques worth over Rs 5 crore were distributed during the event. These included the return of Rs 27 lakh to victims of cyber fraud; Rs 83 lakh under various Labour Department schemes; Rs 4.25 crore in post-matric scholarships for 8,333 students; Rs 25 lakh to 16 women under self-help group and ‘Saksham’ initiatives; Rs 9.69 lakh to 10 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme; and Rs 6.81 lakh to 60 beneficiaries under the ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ scheme.

The programme was attended by Balodabazaar–Bhatapara Zila Panchayat President Smt Akanksha Jaiswal, Raipur Zila Panchayat President Shri Naveen Agrawal, former MLA Shri Shivratan Sharma, State Women’s Commission member Smt Laxmi Verma, Janpad Panchayat President of Simga Shri Daulat Pal, several public representatives, and a large gathering of local residents.
