PM Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 10 development projects worth Rs 34,427 crore in Chhattisgarh

Participated in the Viksit Bharat Viksit Chhattisgarh Sankalp Yatra programme through video conferencing

Raipur 24 February 2024// Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Saturday participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme organized at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the capital Raipur through video conferencing. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 10 projects worth Rs 34,427 crore. This includes the inauguration of 9 projects costing Rs 18,897 crore and laying the foundation stone of one project worth Rs 15,530 crore.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Tourism, Culture, and School Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, as well as a large number of common citizens, also attended the programme. On this occasion, stalls of various schemes were also set up, and their beneficiaries were also present. This programme of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was also held at CSEB Ground in Raipur West Assembly, BTI Ground Shankar Nagar in Raipur South Assembly, Gyan Prakash School Birgaon in Raipur Rural Assembly, Agrawal Bhawan in Abhanpur Assembly, High School Paragaon in Arang Assembly, and High School Kurud Siliyari in Dharsiwa Assembly.

Works Inaugurated by Shri Modi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Open Cast Project Chhal Coal Handling Plant worth Rs 173.46 crore in Raigarh area, Open Cast Project Dipka Coal Handling Plant worth Rs 211.22 crore in the Dipka area, and the Open Cast Project Baraud Coal Handling Plant worth Rs 216.53 crore in the Raigarh area, under the Ministry of Coal. These three open-cast projects will reduce loading time through the rapid loading system and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Shri Modi inaugurated the 100 MW AC/155 MW DC solar power project built in an area of 451 acres in 9 villages of Rajnandgaon district at a cost of Rs 907 crore under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Prime Minister Shri Modi inaugurated two projects worth Rs 1007 crore under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, including a 52.40 km long road from Ambikapur to Shivnagar and a 55.65 km long road from Banari to Masniakala (National Highway-49). The Ambikapur-Shivnagar road will increase connectivity with the state capital Raipur and the Korba industrial area, leading to rapid development of the area. Similarly, the Banari-Masniakala road will save time and fuel in travel from Bilaspur to the Raigarh/Orissa border and will lead to the socio-economic development of the villages in the area.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated one project worth Rs 15,799 crore – Lara Supercritical Thermal Power Plant Stage-1 (2x800MW) under the Ministry of Power. This project, based on supercritical technology, is located in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh state.

Prime Minister Shri Modi inaugurated two projects worth Rs 583 crore under the Railway Ministry, including a 50 MW solar power plant in Bhilai worth Rs 280 crore and the Bilaspur-Uslapur flyover built at a cost of Rs 303 crore. The power generated through the 50 MW solar plant will be utilized to run trains on solar power, thereby promoting green energy.

The Bilaspur-Uslapur flyover (10.5 km) is built at a cost of Rs 303 crore. All trains coming from the direction of Howrah will go directly towards Katni from Bilaspur yard without any cross movement and without creating any hindrance in the movement on the Howrah-Mumbai route. This will reduce traffic pressure in Bilaspur. Besides, the mobility of trains will increase, and agricultural products will have easy access to the market.

Foundation Stone laid by Prime Minister Shri Modi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Lara Super Critical Thermal Power Plant Stage-2 (2G800D) in Raigarh under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. This project will create direct and indirect employment opportunities in the area. The project will further improve the availability of infrastructure development, including access roads, drainage, communication, and transport facilities, and social infrastructure, including education and healthcare systems in the surrounding area.
