Raipur’s Nalanda Parisar doubles free internet speed for students

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s initiative to boost free internet speed at Nalanda Parisar earns praise from students

Raipur, January 13, 2024// In a significant move to enhance the educational experience for students at the state’s first Nalanda Parisar (digital library) located on the NIT campus in the capital city Raipur, the free internet speed has been doubled. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s announcement to increase free internet speed for students has been implemented from National Youth Day onwards, offering enhanced convenience for their studies. Students have expressed their gratitude and praised the Chief Minister for this initiative.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, during his visit to Nalanda Parisar on Good Governance Day on December 25 last year, acknowledged the students’ concerns regarding low internet speed. In response, he promptly announced plans to address the issue by increasing the internet speed. To oversee the management and operation of Nalanda Parisar, the Nalanda Parisar Management Society, chaired by the Collector of Raipur, was formed. In a recent society meeting, immediate action was taken to implement the Chief Minister’s announcement, resulting in the decision to double the internet speed in the library starting January 12. Nodal Officer of Nalanda Parisar, Shri Kedar Patel, stated that the library’s free internet facility was previously available at a speed of 100 Mbps, which has now been upgraded to 200 Mbps.

Nalanda Parisar also has a digital library for students preparing for competitive examinations, operating round the clock. This facility serves a large number of students engaged in UPSC, State PSC, and various competitive exam preparations. Apart from offering free internet for students, the library provides access to offline study materials. In addition, the campus also has a cafeteria and other amenities for an enriched learning environment.
