Young talents of Korba make state proud

Korba. 29 may. Young talents of Korba have brought laurels through their recent achievement at the Indian multilingual drama, dance, and music festival and contest organised by the Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrutik Sangh (ABSS) in association with UNESCO. 

The All-India Multilingual Drama, Dance Music Fest – 19th Cultural Forum of Performing Arts 2023 was held at Pune, Maharashtra, under joint auspices of Akhil Bharatiya Sanskritik Sangh (ABSS) and Global Council of Art and Culture. Aided by UNESCO, the programme continued from 22 May 2023 to 24 May 2023.

Providing a platform for young talents from across the nation, the national programme at Pune involved competitions in different art forms and under various categories.


 
On 23 May 2023, Fiona Sukla Das, a Kathak dancer and daughter of S Sukla Das, an esteemed employee of NTPC Korba, stood first runner up in the category Semi Classical Dance and second runner up in Kathak Classical Dance.

Fiona has also been selected for participation in Cultural Olympiad to be held in Pataia, Bangkok, Thailand in June 2023. Fiona has just passed her second year of Kathak dance and is now in her third year.

Her Guru, Shri Ranjit Nayak, a teacher at DPS Balco remarked that Fiona’s mother, Sushmita Das who has also learnt Kathak, is very much interested in Kathak Dance and likes her daughter to carry on her dance.

ABSS has also been nominated for the NGO Laison Committee. After election, ABSS is the only organizations which is the Committee Member of UNESCO-NGO for Asia Pacific Region.
