For years, Shri Chaman Lal Pawar’s family endured leaking roofs and sleepless nights in a mud house, today, they have a permanent home that is also Bastar division’s first PMAY-G house equipped with a solar power system under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

As part of Sushasan Tihar, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Badekanera village in Kondagaon district and performed the housewarming ceremony for Shri Chaman Lal Pawar’s newly constructed home under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), turning a long-cherished dream into reality.

Interacting with the family, Chief Minister Shri Sai said the government’s objective is not merely to launch schemes but to ensure tangible improvements in the lives of the last person in the queue.

The solar power under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is an initiative combines housing security with clean energy, reflecting the government’s integrated approach to rural development, energy self-reliance and environmental sustainability.

Recalling his family’s struggles, Shri Chaman Lal Pawar said they had spent years in a dilapidated mud house but now on receiving a permanent house has brought stability, security and peace of mind.

“Now we no longer worry about rain or storms. The roof will not leak, and the family can sleep peacefully,” he said, describing the house as more than just a shelter—it represents dignity, security, confidence and a fresh beginning.

One family benefiting from multiple welfare schemes
The Pawar family is also benefiting from several government welfare initiatives. Shri Chaman Lal’s wife, Smt. Ghansatin Bai, and daughter-in-law, Smt. Sangeeta Pawar, receive regular financial assistance under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. The family has also received support through various agriculture-related schemes, strengthening their financial condition and helping them move towards self-reliance.

A unique convergence of PMAY and PM Surya Ghar
The solar system installed under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana is meeting the household’s electricity needs while significantly reducing power expenses. The model highlights the potential of clean energy adoption, energy savings and self-sufficiency in rural areas.

As the first PMAY-G house in Bastar division linked with the PM Surya Ghar scheme, the initiative exemplifies the government’s multidimensional development strategy. Beyond providing housing, it promotes economic relief, environmental conservation and an improved quality of life.

Family expresses gratitude
During the interaction with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Shri Chaman Lal Pawar and his family expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, stating that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahtari Vandan Yojana and PM Surya Ghar Yojana have brought transformative changes to their lives.
