Daily Review to Strengthen System, LPG Supply to Follow Priority-Based Distribution

Raipur, 26 March 2026// Food Secretary Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale held a review meeting with regional managers of oil companies to assess gas availability and the distribution system in the state.

Key decisions were taken to ensure the availability of LPG, streamline distribution, and prioritise supply to consumer institutions. It was decided that commercial LPG consumers and establishments will receive supplies up to a maximum of 20 per cent of their total consumption from the previous month.

Instructions were issued to enable online LPG refill booking within 25 days in urban areas and within 45 days in rural areas, so that consumers get timely refills.

District administrations have been directed to ensure security arrangements at all LPG distributor offices and warehouses through police and home guards. This is aimed at preventing crowding and disorder. Distributors have also been instructed to keep their telephone lines active and resolve consumer complaints without delay.

Based on available stock, priority categories have been defined for supply. These include educational institutions and hospitals, military and paramilitary camps, prisons, hotels, institutions under the Social Welfare Department, railway and airport canteens, government offices, guest houses, animal feed production units, and restaurants.

It was also decided that oil companies will conduct a daily review of commercial LPG stock and distribution, and submit daily reports to the department.

Director of Food and Civil Supplies Dr Fariha Alam, Chhattisgarh State Food Commission Member Secretary Shri Rajeev Kumar Jaiswal, Divisional LPG Head of Indian Oil Corporation Shri Shripad Bakshi, Regional Manager of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Shri Dilip Meena, and Regional Manager of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Shri Mangesh Dongre, along with other officials, were present at the meeting.
