Shri Ganesh Shankar Mishra Assumes Charge as Vice-Chairman of Chhattisgarh Rajya NITI Aayog
Raipur, March 5, 2026/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday attended the programme marking the assumption of charge by the newly appointed Vice-Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Rajya NITI Aayog, Shri Ganesh Shankar Mishra, at NITI Bhavan in Nava Raipur. Chief Minister extended his congratulations and best wishes to Shri Mishra on assuming the new responsibility.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said the Rajya NITI Aayog is an important institution that will guide Chhattisgarh’s development through long-term vision, evidence-based policymaking and stronger coordination among departments. He noted that the body will play a significant role in formulating development strategies that address future needs and emerging challenges.
Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is steadily moving towards the goal of a developed India by 2047. In line with this vision, the Chhattisgarh Vision Document 2047 has also been prepared to outline the State’s long-term and comprehensive development roadmap.
He mentioned that the Prime Minister’s decision to replace the Planning Commission with NITI Aayog reflected a forward-looking approach to governance. Programmes such as the Aspirational Districts initiative have significantly contributed to the development of backward regions, with visible positive outcomes in Chhattisgarh’s aspirational districts as well.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said one of the key strengths of NITI Aayog lies in its emphasis on policy and planning based on the actual needs of regions. Following this approach, Rajya NITI Aayogs have been constituted in several states to guide development priorities. He added that the state government continues to work towards accelerating development through good governance, transparency and public participation.
Expressing confidence in Shri Mishra’s experience, Chief Minister said Rajya NITI Aayog will gain fresh direction and momentum with him serving as Vice-Chairman. He added that the government will carefully consider and effectively implement constructive suggestions received from the Aayog.
Vice-Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Rajya NITI Aayog Shri Ganesh Shankar Mishra said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the state is steadily progressing on the path of development. He added that collective efforts will be made to frame forward-looking policies aimed at making Chhattisgarh more prosperous and developed.
