Korba: The Pre-Primary wing of DAV Mukhyamantri Public School witnessed an atmosphere of enthusiasm and creativity as a ‘Fireless Cooking’ activity was organised on the school campus on Thursday. The initiative aimed at introducing young learners to the basics of food preparation while ensuring safety and promoting healthy eating habits.
Without the use of stoves or ovens, the tiny tots confidently stepped into the role of “Little Chefs” and prepared a variety of delicious and nutritious dishes. The menu featured tasty bhel and loaded nachos, helping children understand the art of blending different textures and flavours. Tangy sandwiches and healthy salads highlighted the importance of incorporating fresh vegetables and wholesome ingredients into daily meals. A refreshing sweet lassi added a delightful touch, familiarising students with simple methods of mixing dairy and fruits.

The hands-on activity not only enhanced the children’s awareness about nutrition but also helped in developing their fine motor skills, coordination and sense of independence as they assembled and mixed ingredients on their own.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Hemanto Mukherjee said that such experiential learning activities are vital for the holistic development of children. “These initiatives nurture creativity, build confidence and impart essential life skills in a safe and enjoyable environment,” he remarked.
The programme concluded with a joyful tasting session, where students proudly presented their colourful creations to teachers and classmates, making the event both educational and memorable.
